The Tutor Tools Sussex website uses session cookies to store an encrypted version of your username and password on your computer during your time logged in to the website.  These cookies contain no personally identifiable information, and expire when you log out.

What information is gathered on this website and how is it used?

Sussex LSC gathers certain types of information about visitors to this web site. It is important, therefore, that visitors know what is gathered and how it is used. Sussex LSC may use information for the following purposes:

  • To fulfil your requests for certain services
  • To personalise your experience on the LSC website
  • To keep you up to date on the latest service announcements or other information Sussex LSC thinks you'd like to hear about either from us or from our partners
  • To understand your needs and provide you with better services

To become a registered user of the TutortoolsSussex website users are required to submit a user name and e-mail address, other personal details are also requested: name, job title and centre/college that you work at.  Do not register to become a member of the TutortoolsSussex website if you do not want Sussex LSC to have access to your e-mail address.

Sussex LSC may share the information provided about the users of the site with adult education centres across Sussex.  Sussex LSC may e-mail registered users to inform them of updates, alert them to new information or when conducting surveys. 

Discussion forums

 All registered users of the TutortoolsSussex website have access to the discussion forums. Using the discussion forums is free.

Users should only use these services for authorised purposes, and should under no circumstances divulge the e-mail addresses of other subscribers to unconnected third parties. 

Any unauthorised use may result in the offending subscriber's subscription being cancelled and, depending on the severity of the unauthorised action, the commencement of civil proceedings against the offender. If any subscriber is unsure as to whether or not a particular course of action is authorised, he/she should contact Sussex LSC in the first instance.

The views and opinions expressed in any e-mail either to a notice board or to a user's personal e-mail address are the author's own and may not reflect the views and opinions of Sussex LSC. In addition, Sussex LSC cannot be held responsible for any acts or omissions of subscribers or for any breaches of data protection legislation by users.
